The project’s Development Component will complement the Training and Production Components through the provision of a Resource Centre and Animation Support Fund.
Africa Animated!’s website will form the basis of an online database of contacts in the animation industry, and links to similar initiatives in Africa and in the world. Registered members and graduates will enter a network dedicated to the African animation industry in order to support their ideas and projects. A library and animation technical facilities will be added in the future.
At a later stage, the Animation Support Fund will provide seed money and logistical support to projects initiated by African animators and audiovisual producers. Three times a year, a commission of experts will select the best projects submitted to the fund, in particular film demos and series pilot episodes, in order to allow promising projects to reach a marketable phase.
