Training is organised around the five-week animation training & production curriculum. Thereof seven more weeks are required to achieve the postproduction of the materials (sound design, final mastering and DVD authoring) produced in the training cycle. This methodology allows the organisation of four (4) training and production cycles each calendar year, corresponding to an average of sixty animators trained and a prospective production of 48 min. of animation per year.
In phase II of the project it is intended to introduce a two-week curriculum for producers, in order to complete the production cycle of animated programmes and raise awareness about the power of animation as a genre in Africa and from Africa to the world.
Africa Animated! curriculum is designed to produce affordable media products both: in terms of both duration and in terms of cost to the many young and talented African artists and producers, often working in advertising and communication.
Each workshop is advertised two months prior to the starting date. Candidates are then requested to submit their application online. A strict selection process is then carried out by the Pedagogical Committee to choose the 10 to 15 best candidates.
